chameleon laid 1 egg

hey guys, when i got hike from work today i noticed my cham had laid 1 egg on the surface of her lay bin....she dident look like she was close to laying any eggs so this was a surprise to me. she laid her first clutch a few months ago (maybe 6-7months) and everything went fine. anyways, i thought this was a bit odd but she seems to be acting perfectly normal. anyone have any ideas why that would happen?

It's almost always not a good sign when they drop eggs in the cage for veileds and most other species of chameleon.

That's strange then. If she laid there before I would have thought she would lay there again with no problems.has she been digging at all? Has anything about it changed?

The time since the last clutch is a little longer than I would expect. How much have you been feeding her each week since she laid the last clutch?

she has been totally normal since, no signs of laying... i cut back her feeding to 4 crickets every 3 days and also lowered her temps to around 81/83 basking. and the cage has not changed much, only a new plant.

She doesn't look like she's carrying a heavy load of eggs...maybe she doesn't have anymore left? Only an X-ray will show for sure.

You could try digging her a hole and showing it to her. It might work. When they do this it's always hard to know what will get them to lay the eggs....or if they even need to. @jannb ...any input on this? @Brodybreaux25 ?
