Chameleon jumping on your arm

My chameleon is climbing on my arm every time I open his cage why? We don’t usually handle him very often, but when we open the cage to feed him or anything he almost jumps onto our hand/arm

Chams do this when they want to get somewhere other than their cage. Like outside of you take them out for sun. They also do it when they are unhappy with their cage or if it is too low to the ground. They don't feel secure if they're below eye level with you.

Sounds like a large percentage of males want out to explore and claim more territory.

What do you own for a chameleon, size of enclosure, and age of individual. Where is the enclosure located
