Hi. I’m in Brevard and last year was given a wild caught male veiled. He came with Giardia and for a bit I wasn’t sure if he’d survive it. Thankfully, he did, but there’s nothing that I can do to cure his seeming depression at being caged. I tried giving him a window view and he rubbed his nose raw (again) trying to reach the trees he saw. He’s torn out many of his claws climbing the screen, looking for a way out.

I’ve given him a double sized enclosure, but he doesn’t utilize his space like my others do. He just wants his freedom back and I wish I could give it to him.
So on behalf of my poor Lucky and all of the other wild chameleons in Florida, stick with captive bred. Fram’s chams currently has baby veileds and their panthers are some of the most beautiful.

Post not complete without a pic of Lucky.
