Chameleon eye infection left eye.

I think my panther has an eye infection. He closes his left every now and then. Right eye is perfectly normal. Still eats and drinks as is thriving. I posted a picture of the left you can kind of see the gunk. He's been closing that eye for about 4 months, but he still uses it when he eats and looks around. I talked to a couple people and they, said he could have just rubbed his eye to hard, but just noticed the gunk. Any over the counter medicine I can get from Walgreens, or should I just take him to the vet?

If it is an eye infection and not just him rubbing his eye I would take him to the vet. He will most likely need medication to clear it up. Someone else might know about an over the counter medicine but unfortunately I don't.
