Hi all, first time here!
I have a male veiled chameleon ( approx 2.5 years old).
I do intend to bring him to the vet and I’ve schedule an appointment for him ( next availability was next week) but I’m wanting to get a better feel for how serious this may be in the event that I need to find a local emergency 24 hr clinic.
About a week ago I noticed his butt area looked a little puffier than usual however, not overly alarming.
This morning I noticed what appears to be something stuck in his butt. It is mostly brown and color and seems to be hard. I’ve researched potential issues and sperm plug and prolapse seem to be the most common suggestions.
I’m not sure if either of these can contribute to a bulging stomach, but this is definitely an evident symptom as well as of today.
for the most part he seems to be acting relatively normal. I soaked his bottom in warm water a few times today however, this hasn’t seemed to make a difference.
See attached pictures for what I’m referring to. If anyone has dealt with this or has any idea what it could be, I’d appreciate some insight.
Thanks!
