Cham is full of eggs but won't lay

Hi, I'm pretty new to this forum but have a question of major concern. I have a Cham that is a young adult, I've had her for about a year now and she came to me as a severely neglected "stray". I got her back to health and she has since laid eggs twice, the only thing I noticed with the others is that she went off food for a couple of days, had them then everything resumed as normal
Here's the issue. This time it has been 6 days since she ate on her own. On day 3 I started forcing Oxbow for carnivores. On day 5 i took her to the vet to have her xrayed to see if she may be egg bound, we saw the eggs but none in the position that would lead us to think egg bound. I need help, how long do I wait? how long can they hang on to the eggs? Is there anything I can do that will help her?

If the vet was concerned, he or she may have offered an injection or to spay her. You could return to the vet in a couple days if you want to consider those options.

I've had one not eat (but continue to drink) for over a week before laying. Is your girl drinking at all?

If you are going to force feed, you might switch to an insect based diet. Know that the stress of force feeding may further delay her laying.

But you know her better than anyone - do what you feel you must.
