cham bullying...help needed

hi guys,i am a first time cham owner and have 2 yamens from the same clutch.one has grown a lot bigger than the other and has started bullying the smaller one.it even pushes it off the top of the viv and it lands on the bottom,it bullies it away from the basking area and im thinking about seperating them.they are both female and im unsure what to do......any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated...thanks guys
 
thanks for the reply mate.everyone i have spoke to has said they are fine being kept together.....is this not the case then?
 
No definitely not.. they are far from social animals and keeping them seperate is an absolute must. check out a few of the care guides on this forums, there is some great advice.
 
Only young hatchlings are kept together. after hey hit 3 months and even sometimes before, they begin to bully and fight with each other.

Seperate immediatly.
 
people that put yemes together are playing with their luck, there are a few chams species that can be keep together, yemens are no one of them
 
had a look at a few care sheets and they were extremely helpfull.....would you mind taking a look at my viv and both the chameleons for me just to give me your general idea on if its suitable etc and see if you think they are healthy enough....il post some pics later
 
they are about 4 months old now maybe 5 and its over the last few weeks i have noticed that the bigger is bullying the smaller
 
yeah sure no problem. I am sure lots of people will be able to chime in and give advice, also. That is what tends to happen tho if people house together. There is usually a larger, more dominant one.

so iv got a 2 ft viv that was used for a couple of snakes that im planning to transfer the bigger of the 2 yamens into as i think it will cause her less stress than the smaller one....it has plenty of ventilation and a uv tube and a guarded ceramic heat source on a thermostat...im going to disinfect it and add all the branches and leaves and stuff and hopefully she will be happy in there....what do you think?
 
Two foot will be ok for a few weeks. They will need four foot tall viv each very soon. The uv needs to be replaced every 6 months. Instead of ceramic could you use an ordinary household bulb as a heat source. You will need to monitor your temps carefully. Can you put heat bulb outside viv? If not make sure she cannot climb on the guard.:)
 
There is a reason that one is outgrowing the other....he's stealing all the food. Tongue injury is a very likely possibility if you keep them together, as I have seen panther babies steal food directly from the mouth of a sibling.
 
its 2 ft wide and 3 foot tall and has a guard around the bulb and she cant climb on it......with it having a glass front its very humid.iv got a digital thermometer in there too....what do you recomend i set the thermostat to?
 
the smaller one does eat but the bigger eats more and will also eat wax worms directly from my hand,she seems a lot more sociable and confident but the smaller one does seem to be eating more now there seperated

Sometimes, 2 female panthers can get along, but not veileds!!
Need sperate cages, away from each other as already said.
