Cham Age/Female?/Egg Bin

Hello everyone. So we are coming along in Cham 101 and now I have a question about age and sex.

We were told our veiled was a female but I have included a photo of "her" back leg for sex identification. We also need an estimate of her age. The picture that shows her on an arm is an arm of small 11 year old. She is about 4.5 inches from tip of nose to base of tail.

Also, if she is a female, when should I provide an egg laying bin? What do most of you use for this bin? The care sheet said it should be at 16 X 16 but how deep? and is just play sand ok? Can the sand get wet (auto drip) or should I find a way to protect it from getting wet. Thanks in advance for all you advise and time.

It is a female, approx. 5-7 months old.

BUckets needs to be 12 inches Min deep.

ANd the sand has to be wet. in order to hold a shape when she digs a tunnel.

We recommend placing the bin in when her big girl colors come in

Ok so that is a really big bin. What do people usually use for those? Do you clean it out everyday or do you just leave it until she uses it?

what do you mean clean it out?
you have to leave the sand/dirt in there for her.
and yes its a big bin, has to be, since they like t dig deep.
