I live in Boise, Idaho and keep the house around 55-degrees F at night. In light of it being so cold, I have been keeping the heat lamp on for him (not preferable, as then the humidity goes down).
Is this necessary?
I would recommend a small space heater to heat the room. However, these are carpets and I know they can handle cool temps. You can buy a sunbeam brand heater for $10 at Walmart. It works excellent as I use them in my chameleon rooms. Also, for humidity you can buy an inexpensive humidifier for $30. Good luck.
It's chilly, and keeping them inside is somewhat different from keeping them outdoors. I've never had a problem with them getting down to 40F at night though outside as long as temps. the next day warmed up for them. I prefer night temps. to be 50F and above though.

F. lats are often found at high altitudes. Even right now in the Malagasy summer the nights are about 60F in the highlands. I've definitely seen it get into the mid-50s in their winter, too.
