Carpet Chameleon Scare!!!

So I just came home today from class and my chameleon was at the top of the cage kind of holding awkwardly onto a branch. So i lifted the leaf to see what exactly was going on and she dive bombed to the bottom of the cage. I am aware the chameleons use this as some sort of escape tactic? It has never happened before so that’s why I am confused. I have noticed she has started getting her mature color patterns lately too. Could these be the “crazy” ***** chameleon hormones kicking in? Right now she is just laying in the hibiscus plant and not moving. I think something may be really wrong.

Please Help Me!!!!!!!!!

The best I could get of the coloration. It looks pretty good lately. Thats why I think I might be overreacting. Maybe she is just getting to the "i hate my dad" phase...

You probably just caught her off guard. Lateralis are one species that is known to be a jumper or dropper, what ever you want to call it, when spooked.

Its been a few hours now since she dropped. Do you notice any swelling or odd looking movements?

Yeah she seems fine today. Must have just spooked her badly. She's back to her usual eating and remaining skeptical of me in the room..lol
