Carnivorous plants

Okay Idk If this counts as a pet, but can someone suggest me a good site to order carnivorous Plants? I'd like to get a bunch of Mexican butterworts among others for my chameleon room to fight against gnats and just because I like them. I realize they won't solve a fungus gnat problem, but a little bit of added control never hurts.

California carnivores has a good selection.

That podcast episode has gotten me really interested in this world of plants, I am kinda going to look at some today, I was thinking a Nepenthes. We will see.

These plants are not safe to be in with the chams, though. Right? I used to have a pitcher plant.

Yeah, as I've read it's kind of just common sense with them. The vast majority won't hurt the cham, but may be hard to keep alive in their cages. I'm going to just put some around my enclosures for looks.

Mine controls the fruit flies that infested my isopods colony :(

I would assume sundews and butterworts would, but then again wouldn't nats love nectar from the pitcher plant? They would still get intoxicated by the nectar and fall in the digestive juice like anything else right?

The only thing I can think that would be a negative about butterworts is that they go succulent i think the term is, where they don't eat bugs for a period of time and bloom? Flower?

And no expert or really experience for that matter just wondering every one's opinion on this.

Yeah butterworts go succulent instead of going dormant which actually isn't too bad I'd imagine. They'd just stop eating bugs for a few months basically. Other carnivs need a dormancy period of lower temps, very little water and light, etc

Pitchers look coolest imo. I'd like to hang those from my ceiling In my spare bedroom turned rainforest lol. Then have some butterworts and whatever else sitting around

So your clearing thinking what I'm thinking, that's too funny, although I am not brave enough for a permanent free-range!:ROFLMAO:;)
