Carmelo

Chameleon Enthusiast
Well, its been a difficult season in my home. In November, out of nowhere, unexpected and in perfect health, my dog Vinny was stricken with sickness. Within 1 week of becoming sick and after several thousands of dollars of vet bills, his health worsenened. He could no longer walk or eat. We put him in his kennel and pushed him around the block. The weather was beautiful. On that sunny day Vinny, took his final walk around the block. We took him to the vet and said our final good byes.

Carmelo has had age related health issues the past year. He would have peroids of falling from the branches. He would get better for several months then he would start falling again. The vet always gave him a bill of health. His blood chemistry was good. Xrays good. No actual medical issues. A few months ago his health took a turn for the worst. We knew he would not recover. We were still mourning Vinny and could not stand the thought of euthanizing Carmelo. My 17 year old granddaughter, would scream and yell Noooo! For the past 2 months, we held him, loved on him and gave him water and food by syringe. Last night, Carmelo passed away. We will bury him in our yard and plant a over him in his memory.

Oh no. 💔 Sending big hugs your way and I am so sorry for your family’s losses. One is hard enough but 2 back to back is really hard. Both Vinny and Carmelo were obviously loved so much by your family, they were so fortunate to have you all. 😢

Thanks, both were adopted from animal shelters. Vinny held the title of longest stay and Carmelo was living in the worlds smallest Chameleon enclosure.
