I was just wondering if caraway seeds were safe to use in gutload mixes? Would they be beneficial and would insects like the taste or be repeled by them:confused:?

I wouldn't think that crickets would eat the seeds, they like vegetables and easier things to eat.

well I would have crushed them up for them...the ungratful little creatures LOL. The calcium to phos ration looks OK

If your bugs will eat ground caraway, I think its fine to offer as a part of the gutload. I've never used them myself though.
the ratio is indeed good, though caraway (like most seeds) also contains a moderate amount of oxalic acid.

Do let us know how it works out
