Cagebuilding! (will update thread as I progress)

My father has announced that we will finally (probably) be building the cage this week.

I started drawing up ideas, so lemme know if you have any pointers. If not, we'll most likely be making trips to home depot for coated chicken wire, bamboo sticks (climbin' stuff), 2x4s (to cut in half to make 2x2s), and PVC flooring of some sort.

Actually he has talked about doing a cage where all sides but the top and front are solid and look like rock, where we can plant pothos in.

In order to do this, the cage has to be pretty darn big, so I'm making it 4 1/2x3x3.

We will modify our current DIY PVC dripper/lights frame so that it fits the top of the cage.

Here are our current sketches.

Any tips/heads up would be appreciated.

I built my cage and i advise not to use aluminum screen. I used the black aluminum screens and noticed that my chams feet were getting stuck. I currently have a pet friendly screen i bought from lowes that works well. On the top of the screen I used the black aluminum screen on the top of the enclosure to allow more light to pass through.

Yes, I mentioned that the top of the cage and the front will be made of screen (possibly the sides will be rocky tile stuff though).

I want screen like chicken wire coated with pvc though because 1) small so he doesnt get through 2) big so the nails dont get ripped off when he possibly climbs it.

That way I can use zip ties to secure stuff too.

Exactly what is considered pet friendly though?

So the chicken wire has large enough holes where the nails wont come off? I have to look into that. Unfortunately my cham is missing a lot of nails. I believe from before I purchased him. The pet friendly screen is smooth, not as rough feeling as the aluminum screens.

Ah I just want some wire so his feet can fit through without his nails ripping off. My veiled looks like he was missing a toe but I think he just ripped a nail off.
