I'm new to this myself, and I bought this terrarium:

Here he is in it:

I am quite happy with it, but after I educated myself, I think it's a tad bit too small. That enclosure is 18Wx18Dx24H. It's perfect for a young or small Chameleon. It's also a work in progress.
I believe he will eventually need something at least 36" tall. I will eventually have to go to this:

Had I known this, I would have bought the larger enclosure up front. Bigger is always better in this case (to a certain extent)
As far as feeding goes, I have a small "critter keeper" that I put his crickets into. It took him several days to become a pro at getting to his food. The keeper is clear, so he would try and catch them thru the container. lol Now he knows to climbe down from his perch and leans into the keeper and gobbles them up. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Prior to this cage, he was in a store bought "reptile kit"; read: 10GAL aquarium. He had bedding and such and he hunted his crickets just fine. We also hand feed him meal worms. I believe yours will be able to get thier food just fine. They have years of inhereted instict on such things. (just my 2cents worth, but I'm not a pro. )
I made a comment about how cool they were when my wife and I were at the pet store once shopping for Dog Food. The next thing I know (the next day) I come home and there he is on my kitchen table.
Anyways, money is tight, so my little guy (whose about 9 months from my best estimate) comfortably fits his cage for now. Maybe this summer or fall I will spring for the bigger cage.
