Cage demensions

What do you guys think of 36 length 24 width and 48 height ? My cage builder is in town and this is the dimensions I think I want. They will be their outdoor cages until winter time rolls around, then they will become the permanent enclosures.

I have always been a wider than taller fan, as you can raise the cage height by setting it up higher. Most of my chams like to go laterally rather than up and down.

So should I flip it around a bit. 48X24x36? I'll have to go measured area down stairs again, see if two 48 inchers can fit in the room I have them in.

I agree with Montium, horizontal space is great if you have the room for it. I think 3' wide is a great width if you have the option of custom building it but I bet they'd love 4' if you could swing it.

I can do 4 foot wide :) measured and it fits both cages! What about the height and depth....is that good or would you change it? I have a forum member (jbecker my best friend bkfritz husband) building it so I get to do what ever I want :D

Awesome! I can not wait to show yall the finished product! Jbecker does outstanding work, and with our weather being cold, I have several days to get the cages furnished before its warm enough to move them outside. Can not wait to get the boys in them! I'll post the pictures in here to keep from having a million threads about the same thing. Also getting some top notch lighting for the boys ordered on Monday. What they have now is OK, but it could definitely be better. They are about to be living it up in captivity :D

Thrilled with how these turned out! All together, materials cost roughly $110! No longer have to worry about losing a toe nail to that tiny mesh!

Mookie Joe loves the new enclosure, but hates my iPhone haha

Still have to furnish it properly, but I am way excited about the new cages!

That looks great.

I'd like to go with the bigger 'screen', but I'd have too many escaped insects running around my house.

I've thought about this These will currently be used for outdoors, feeding is done in the AM and I take them outdoors around 1- how ever, this winter I will bring the cages in and use them indoors. I have an idea in my head that I think will solve the bug escapers problem!

Julia, those look awesome! Mookie Joe is going to get lost in all that space lol.

That's the idea! I want them to feel free! :D I had to wait to get bigger cages because he was so small! Now that they both are a good size I was able to upgrade :) which leaves to 18x18x36 enclosures free if you catch my drift ;) ;)

Apparently the idiom is "as happy as a clam at high tide," because you can only dig for clams at low tide. I don't know, I didn't come up with it Lol.
