I'm sure you though of this but pay attention to the cages being outdoors. I ended up with a snake in a cage very similar to this. That's why I still go with 1/4" vinyl coated hardware cloth. Expensive but no snakes.
I've never seen a snake here in my life. I think it gets to cold in the winter lol BUT I will DEFINITELY keep that in mind just incase! I think I'll look into that coated hardware cloth too. Thanks for the warning!
The poisonous ones keep to the south east part of the state. We get garter snakes but they stick to the grain elivators and creeks where the mice, frogs and toads live. In the 20 years I've live in this town I've only seen a couple and it was after a bit of flooding when the toads were all over town.
I was just about to text you and ask of you had ever seen a snake around here haha
And if you do see one it's probably sick. There's nothing in town for them but lawn mowers and SUV's so they usually avoid it. Plus the eating's much better in the countrymore fat grain fed mice
I'd be careful if you ever move to an acreage though.
