Would these be a deff no no in a chams enclosure? Sorry to ask, I saw some today and was thinking of getting them (if I don't put them in the enclosure i'll use them on display).

some cacti can be used, but fly trap is a no no. the cham might step in the mouth and kill the fly trap.

thorns arent a prob. my bougainvillea has about 4 cm thorns and my cham uses them as a scratching post.i dont know which cacti are the best but im pretty sure all are ok except for the furry ones. saguaro cactus get very large so i think they will be good. or prickly pear cactus might work well. though all the humidity might kill the cacti. im not sure how they'll do.

what i suggest is the prickly pear cactus because it has thorns, but some types dont, (i dont know if they sell those bec they might be wild morphs). they dont grow too large but grow faster that a food every 15 yrs or something like that as a saguaro does. so prickly pear is the way to go. people eat prickly pear meat and their fruit is good cricket food or bearded dragon food.

the reasons I avoided advising people to use thorny safe plants are the nuisance it cause during cage cleaning :) and the possibility of your cham injuring itself during accidental fall/ slip.

If you insist, rose is another plant that i heard some member in this forum used.

some types of prickly pear dont have thorns. my cham likes walking on the thorns. and uses them to shed.

not unless he falls, but that can be prevented my proper care. but that isnt really a reason because all chams can get hurt when they fall on a hard surface just this increases the probability of getting hurt by falling.
