HI,

Well the time is near for me to get my Chameleon. Any advice out there as to which species I should look into getting. I have done tons of research and like them all. This chameleon will not be used for breeding purposes. I am interested in getting a male. Your suggestions would be appreicated.

Thanks

I really do like panthers and theyre okay for starter chams.
Theyre very exciting to watch grow :)
When you get them they dont have much color to them and its fun to see how they color up as they get older :)

Thanks,

Has anyone had any experience in purchasing a Chameleon from Chameleons Northwest. I have inquired about purchasing one of their chameleons and would love to hear on how your purchase went.

Funny you say that.
Ive met the owners personally and I have seen their panther breeders and theyre all very beautiful :)

I havent bought any panthers there but Ive bought a veiled there and shes very very pretty :)

chameleons northwest is a great site to get your chameleon from. They have great chameleons and alot to chose from, there prices are very reasonable as well. Hope you enjoy chameleon shopping!

what kind of rudis do you have in mind? rudis' are small and cool and cute. but if you want something bigger and more fun panther would be the way to go. rudis can sometimes be a little bit harder to keep as well in regard to lower temperatures and high humidities

True rudis chameleons are not available on the market. The species is actually sternfeldi and they just call them rudis. There are also red rudis which arent really a true rudis either. In what aspects would a panther be "more fun" than a sternfeldi:confused:

Panthers are bigger and have much more colors and personally (I wouldnt normally say this with many species but:rolleyes:) I would choose a panther.
I have kept both. Sternfeldi have nice colors and patterns and are generally "calm". However I do not suggest getting a chameleon to be able to handle it. You will not find many captive bred sternfeldi for sale but there are some out there from time to time. They also require higher humidity and cooler temps than panthers but if starting with a healthy specimen and knowing correct husbandry practices sternfeldi should not be harder to keep. Its really what you want to get!!!

I have never bought a chameleon from chamsnorthwest but I have sold them a few, talked to them through phone and email, seen posts and seen animals others have gotten from them. You will not be displeased if you go with them!!:)
