Can someone tell me if this is a burn on Da Vinci's head? And if so how can I cure it?

I can't tell by the angle of the pic.

If it is a burn you will need neosporin ( the one without pain relief) and a vet

Your Chameleon - Veiled, male, 4-5 months old. He has been 2 months under my care
Handling - I handle him about 3-4 times a week
Feeding - I feed him crickets and meal worms. I feed him 20 crickets and 5 meal worms. My gutload includes collard greens, dandylion, turnip, oranges, apples, and carrots. I blend them all and freeze them into ice cubes.
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? I use repti calcium with d3 once a week and without 4 times a week, I have repti-cal reptivite multivitamin which I give him once a month
Watering - I use a dripper and mist him like 4 times a day and I see him drink water almost everyday.
Fecal Description - It's white with about an 8th yellow and black. No I haven't tested him for parasites

Cage Info:
Cage Type - I have a screen 30x16x16
Lighting - I use a 5.0 fluorescent UVB bulb by zoo med and a 60 watt basking bulb by zoo med as well. I have them both on during the day until 8 pm then I turn on a night heating bulb by zilla which is 75 watts due to the cold breeze where I live.
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?my basking spot is 85 degrees and the lowest is 75 degrees. I have a thermometer that I got at pecto. I think the degrees may be higher because I don't really trust the analog thermometer
Humidity - What do you use to measure humidity? I have a corn plant which helps my humidity but unfortunately I still haven't gotten my humidity thermometer.
Plants - Yes I'm using a live plant which is a corn plant and I'm going to get a pothos this week
Placement - his cage is near the living room window but isn't in front of the window. His cage is as tall as me (5'8)
Location - I'm located in Southern California about 20 minutes from the beach
Current problem- it's seems he has a thermal burn but I'm not sure it's severe. It looks kinda bubbly

My cham also got burned like that and I contacted the vet by phone. My vet just told me to increase the distance to the lamp, and put some ointment on it. (I used an ointment that was in gel form so that it would dry out fast)

I also asked is it OK to take a small piece of wet toilet paper, and put it on it's head to shield the burned part from being burned even more. (When people get sunburned, they are more sensitive to sunshine, and I reasoned that it should be shielded a bit)

The vet answered yes it's ok, as long as the piece of toilet paper dries out, and the burn does not get infected and secrete any puss.

About a month or so passed, and it healed completely.

I am no expert at all, in fact far from it so maybe others more experienced will chime in but I did want to comment that in the last picture his head has a nice sheen to it and my guys looked that way just before shedding and had a couple of white tips on his back as well. The next day he was in full shed. So maybe this is what is happening. How long has it been that way?

In uk it is called Flamazine but it is prescription only. If it is a burn then a vet visit is advised as there may be underlying infection. It is important to raise the basking light or decrease the wattage so there is not a risk of it happening again. I would not use your night bulb as he can be quite happy with a drop in temp to 50-55. I have one on a thermostat and it only kicks in if temps drop below 55. Your thermometer is not good. It is very important to measure accurately so this doesn't happen again. I learned the hard way too.:)

Thx u guys for the help, I truly appreciate it. Here is another pic

It happened yesterday when I was out. Anttu what kind of ointment? where did u get it?

I am in Finland and the stuff the vet recomended either bacibact, betadine, or some gel with 1% hydrocortison. Bacibact is some antibacterial/antibiotic stuff that they sell without prescriptions, and it is meant for people. I guess betadine is a universal solution that is sold around the world.

The vet also told me not to put much of it, just a little bit.

I used the liquid betadine, I didn't really put much, and for like the last 3-4 weeks I didn't put any on it, and the burn healed just as well as it did without the betadine. If the skin is intact, and not infected, I guess it's not really that necessary.

To me it looks like the burn on your cham will just go away by itself. I would focus more on making sure that it doesn't get burned any more, in other words raise the lamp, and possibly

I don't see a burn the black is normal and the white around the bone ridge like a haze is also normal he is growing and changing. You can put polysporin on it I'm sure it won't hurt. And you can buy it without the stress of a vet trip.

This chameleon here has a burn. How is this guy doin now by the way? Like I posted imo he is not burnt but to be safe polysporin or the vet whichever you feel necessary. Hope all is well and you figure it out. Keep us posted he is a handsome guy. :)
