Do you have some siladene cream to put on it? I'd try that a few days and if no improvement a vet visit may be in order. I would move the bulb a little higher just in case he got burned.

Chams can get infections on their footpads either from a cut or scrape, or possibly from bacteria on dirty perches. Sometimes they are difficult to treat. You should plan on scrubbing down all his branches with a 1:10, bleach:water solution to kill any bacteria that might be there. Rinse and thoroughly dry the branches before using them.

It looks pretty bad, so I think I would have a vet check it and give you a specific antibiotic ointment. Silvadene is a good one...often vets will give you a free sample of it. Another option is Polysporin or a "triple antibiotic" cream you can get OTC from a drug store.

Are you using hardware cloth screen on his cage? If so I would either get him out of that cage asap, or line the inside of that cage with coated screen to keep him from climbing on it and re-injurying the area. They can also get foot infections if their branches and perches arent large enough and of varying diameters. I would go over all my husbandry issues at this time.

just to let u all know his foot is clearing up nicely now it looks a 100 times better and is almost completly gone....many thanks for all the advice.
