Bump on side

I noticed this bump on Spaghettis side this morning as I was feeding him. He has no symptoms and it does not seem to be bothering him. Any idea what it could be? My worry is that I’m going to be out of town for a few days.

Could be an abscess. Could be something more as well. This would mean a vet visit. I would set up an appointment for as soon as you get back as long as his daily behavior is normal. If it is not such as sleeping during the day, stopped eating, not moving around as normal then I would get to vet prior if possible.

Ok thank you! I’ll get him in as soon as I get back. He’s acting normal as of right now.

Just got a call from the vet. Apparently Spaghettis vet broke his hip 😬 so they have rescheduled him for Monday. He’s still acting fine and showing no symptoms and eating and acting normally

What antibiotics and topical cream?
Glad he’s home!

Be careful about letting insects free in the cage. You don’t want them contaminating the open wound or chewing on it.

Did the vet do a culture and sensitivity test on the abscess content?
I don’t let insects free roam so we should be all good there. I’ll check the names of the medications in the morning. I am not sure about the culture and sensitivity test. I know he took a sample using a needle when we first went last week and he did some sort of test to confirm that it was an abscess.

Enrofloxacin is the oral and the topical is animax ointment.
