I think he just looks really upset at seeing that Camera, they both do, lol. Nico is that the same Veiled that attacked your roomies cam lens and took a chunk out of it?

The males (probably females too) will do that when they're mad and threatened.

I'm no chameleon behavioralist, but my guess is in the wild the males may fight for territory or mates. They sink their eyes in for protection during fights.

yes, veiled chameleons have the ability to retract their eyes.
That is why you need to watch them for several minutes, and also look at the casque before making an assumption.

ya thats my male he has been doing good ive been wondering if the eye thing was cause he was dehydrated but i hydrated him and he still does it which like someone said they do that to protect his eyes but ya he got really pissed hahah
