Both Boys Shedding

Mr. T (Panther) and Mr. Echo (Jacksons) are both finishing up a shed, they both started to shed before I got them. I have had Mr. Echo for about 5 weeks and Mr. T about 3. How long does it usually take for a complete shed start to finish? Can anyone give a guesstimate on the age of each?

Let me make sure I understand you, they've been working on the same shed for five weeks?


Id say Mr. T is atleast a year old. Mr. Echo a little younger, maybe 10 months or so. Hard to say, neither of these pictures show there size.

Julia, it's been hard to tell about the shed, they are not like snakes where it is all at once, these guys have been shedding for at least a few weeks, a little here and a little there? Is this normal? As for age, I think you are pretty close based on what little info was available when I got them.

As a chameleon ages their sheds will slow down and most likely will happen in stages as you describe. However, if they are only a year old, they should still be doing complete sheds within a day or two so they might be older than your expecting or something isn't correctly balanced which is making them take longer. Supplements, humidity, stress levels, etc.
