can broken bones from a female veiled be passed on to offspring? I know it would be difficult for the mother but if they aren't born with the defect can they pass it on?

Is she the one in your picture? Did you take her to the vet for it?
I would think it would hurt the female when she gets huge with eggs.
Imagine a human female bearing a baby having to carry around that weight with a bad back..
Not sure if I understand the question completely. But if the mother's 'broken bones" was a hereditary thing, there is a chance that it can be passed on to a percentage of the babies. If the mother, somehow was injured, then most likely the bone issue will not be passed to the babies.
If the bone issue was MBD related and you are giving her a recommend amount of calcium, then future babies shouldn't be affected.
Do you have pictures of the female? I don't know how bad the back problem is, but if it is bad, they you may want to consider not breeding her.
She is the one in the profile pic and it was an accident. I let my dumb sister hold my female when she was young. I told her to hold my cham over the couch because if she fell she would be alright. But no she didn't then the poor gal took a tumble two feet high when she was around four inches. She ruined her for life.

I think he wants clear answers on whether his female with a back problem can breed or not.
He's had a couple threads where this discussion splintered off, but never received a clear answer from someone with experience.
I thought you said it was from petsmart?
That's true. Her back is the only broken part of her. I wanted to know because i want to get a male veiled later on and breed her when she is old enough. But i don't want to curse the babies or kill her in the process. i have had her for 9 months and care for her to much for anything bad happening to her.

Oh well. I would be happy she survived an accident like that. She doesn't need to breed to be happy. It is a very big responsibility to breed anyways, not a decision taken lightly with novice experience.
By the way, one thread is better than two. It takes a little for people to respond, but you have to actually wait.
