Blue bottle flies

I just put like 30 of them in a deli cup and then put a small cup inside w fly food. After 4 days the pupae hatched and the flies ate the food. I then put the flies in the frig for 2 minutes to slow them down long enough for me to divide them between the two cages.

Thanks!!! Do I need to put holes in the deli cup lid for air exchange?

Lisa,

Here's the setup mantidpets.com sells. It consists of a bigger plastic container with a vented lid. Inside that you put the three smaller plastic cups. One contains food, the second contains the water gel and the third contains the pupae. When your ready to feed put the whole thing in the freezer for 2 minutes then you can put the flies in with the chameleons. It works great and is just a few bucks or you can make your own. I have two so that I always have flies hatching. The chameleons go nuts over them.
