My chameleon most like others does not like to be touched and is starting to snap and hiss at me when I try to handle him so I can clean his cage. Eventually he will bite me and I was wondering how bad does it hurt or if it will draw blood? Let me know!
Depends on how big they are. Most of the time, it won't draw blood, but a really large adult chameleon can pack quite a chomp. I've been bitten by a few things and chameleons aren't too bad at all.
they can draw blood. but this usually happens when you try to remove your finger from their mouth before they have released you.
If they chomp you, just let them release you on their own and youll come away with just some teeth marks.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my female panther got me a few weeks ago and it hurt! I was holding a worm on an open palm for her and I guess she decided just to grab the worm with her mouth instead of shooting for it while I wasn't really paying attention and she chomped down on the fleshy part of a finger and would not let go!
She was like a tiny alligator! I was trying not to move but she wouldn't let go, even if I tapped on her head, and it took her a good minute or two to give up. No blood or anything but she has sharp little teeth and a jaw like a pitbull! Lol It hurt for another half hour or so and then it's like it never happened.
But that's a one-off. I've never been bitten before and she wasn't biting out of aggression, she just thought she could my finger and wasn't about to lose her meal!
