Bit of a Dilemma..

I have a roughly 4 month old veiled chameleon and I'll be traveling out of state in about a month and I don't have anybody that i can trust to take proper care of him while I'm gone for a week. I'm wondering if it will be better to leave him here, with more than likely improper care, or bring him with me. If I bring him with me, I can take full and proper care of him everyday, it's just the 15 hour car ride there and back and the amount of stress it will cause that concerns me. Any advice on which option would be less harmful?

I can bring his whole cage so his enviroment change would be at a minimal. If I leave him, the crickets won't be gut loaded and I fear that the dripper won't be refilled or they'll try to play with him or a number of other things. If the advice is to bring him, please let me know the least stressful way to transport him. Thanks!

Where are you located? Perhaps another forum member could help you out by babysitting. 15 hours seems like a long trip for a cham.

I live in the Outer Banks of North Caolina. Probably not too many chameleon owners around me, I had to drive an hour and a half to pick up my chameleon since the closest retailer was in Virginia Beach.
