Big Thank You!

Miss Lily

Chameleon Enthusiast
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for their messages and support through Lily's illness and on her passing. The love and kindness shown by everyone has been overwhelming. I honestly didn't realise that Lily was so popular - there was just something extra special about her.

Now that I am feeling better about things I am looking into getting a baby female - not to replace Lily, as she was irreplaceable - but because I can't stand looking at her empty house! She has left a big gap in my life and I feel that it's now time to fill it with a new baby.

Awwe, Miss Lily will always be special. The way you cared for her and was so proud of her goes to show just how lucky the next little girl will be to have a mommy like you.

Hey Tiff,

We all know that Lily can never be replaced, and were all glad that you have decided stay with us, and to give it another go. You are irreplaceable too!:) Good luck Tiff, I know you will find that special chameleon.:)

Glad you are feeling better and as you said Miss Lily can never be replaced but with all you have learned from her you can go forward and help another Cham be as happy as you made her,i feel that Miss Lily would be very proud of that....lots of hugs coming your wayXX

Ugh, I wish you were in the US. I would GIVE you one of my baby veileds. You obviously cared for Lily a great deal and I always liked peeking at your posts.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Hey there, I don't really know you that well, but I saw many pics of your lily. It's sad when we lose the ones we love. I was thinking though that maybe you should try a male veiled, or try another species. Another female veiled might be too similar to lily and you might be unhappy when you realize she won't have lily's personality. Whatever you decide to do is totally up to, Just giving some advice. Also I would suggest an extremely thorough cage cleaning before buying another cham (if lily's death was disease related, i'm not exactly sure). It'd be so sad to have the same thing happen to a new baby.

Same thing Kenya wrote. I always loved peeking at your threads about Lily :)

She was something else....Your new baby will have an awesome mother taking care of her :)

goodluck and best wishes!

Thank you Kenya - that's a lovely thought! I loved Lily far more than I thought possible to love a reptile!

Oh trust me, I know exactly what you mean! Reptiles in general are such amazing creatures and are so overlooked. I am very fond of them as well, but I think you all knew that

I am seconding that you should get a big handsome strutting male veiled. They can have the funniest personalities and are just stunning.

Hey Tiff, you know howhappy I am that you are working on getting another baby. I disagree that you should get a male, I think you are perfect with a female veiled. Not to replace Lily but another one to love. Males can have such rotten attitudes, I just can't see you with a male. Just my thoughts:) I am also very happy that Lily passed from natural causes. Knowing how you cared for her I expected nothing less.

this is great news Tiff.
I got Mista two months after i lost Missy and they were the Longest two months ever, the same reason as you i hated looking at her stuff i even put it away coz it hurt to see it but the love of these creatures made me get another one,not a day goes by i don't miss her but the overwhelming love i have for Mista makes it all worth while.
Good luck:D

haha yes they do my missy was very much like lily, oh man males are sooo different:D:D

As you've said I doubt you'll ever be able to replace lily, but it'll be a great testament to her if you do get another girlie and care for her as much as you did lily! I'm sure any cham would appreciate that kind of care!

I've only just realised where you were otherwise I would have been able to suggest a few peeps to get a baby female from! Is it tricky finding chams on the Isle of Wight?

I guess I could get pretty much whatever I wanted, but I'd have to travel for hours on the mainland to get it. The place that I got Lily from has a bunch of baby males in, but they are contacting the breeder for me about getting a female. They are able to get Jacksons and panthers and probably even a carpet but I''d have a very long wait! Veileds are far more common, with several breeders on the south coast.

'Tis true! Now Hugo is getting a bit older he is often strutting around the place and getting one hell of a personality! He even comes to me even though I keep 'dropping' him! Which ever you choose, I know that you will love them with all your heart and give them everything they need. :)
