Best starter chameleon

What is the best starter chameleon?
They are not starter animals, but this is for my good friend.
I know they are solitary I have one, but aim for one that is friendly.

Friendly is never what you should aim for with a chameleon. Expect aggressive, hope for friendly/docile.

Panthers (F. pardalis) and veileds (C. calyptratus) are "starter" chameleons. They are very forgiving of mistakes often made by new owners. Generally speaking, veileds are more aggressive, and panthers are more docile. That said, some of the most friendly chameleons on here have been veileds.

I gotta say none are easy u know that. Veileds are more known for aggression so as far as common good starter and wat not is have to say panther.. I have a veiled and love him!. Captive bred and male..

I know this because I have owned chameleon before I think that docile=friendly as far as chameleons go

My veiled is a female and she was captive bred and she's a real jerk.. I'm actually trading her because she's so mean.. you can't hold her or even open her tank without her lunging or hissing.. I started off my collection of chameleons with a jackson.. And he has been the best chameleon ever! :)

Wow I have a panther chameleon and he loves to come out and play

My female veiled used to lunge and hiss like that. But it is more of a territorial display. She has calmed down alot with maturity, and now goes to animal themed birthdays for young children and has presented on campus. Would not trade my female veiled for anything! Hard work and love have paid off :)
