Behavior and Handling

I've read so much on this and my cham was doing alright with handling until we had to medicate him for about two weeks. He hated this and now is terrified of us. He never really tried to bite or hiss but now all I have to do is reach in his cage and he puffs up and tries to bite me. He is too nervous to even hand feed so I have been just hanging by his cage for small amount of time and putting my hand in near him and not touching him to try and gain his trust but he is super aggressive ever since medicating him. I feel bad stressing him out but want to take him outside for sun and be able to clean his cage and stuff without really stressing him. He is a little over 6 months old.

What was wrong with you chameleon? Why did you have to medicate him?

They can become territorial and cage aggressive. Try opening his door and placing a large plant or tree in front of his door. Sit back at a distance and just watch him and see if he'll come out. Once out of the cage they are usually much nicer. Don't leave him with the door open or he might come out when you are not looking and get lost in your house or you might have other pets that can harm him.

He had a respiratory infection, he seems to be doing great now. Growing and eating lots.

That's a good idea. I do a lot of work in the office where he is so monitoring him won't be a problem,
