Beginner veiled baby

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and to being a Chameleon owner.

I bought my Chameleon yesterday 1/16/16. He or she has eaten about 3 crickets yesterday and about 4 today. I have been misting the cage about three times a day with a hand mister. I am waiting for my little dripper to be delivered.

My Chameleon has not pooped yet. Should I be concerned ?

Some background, I bought her/him at a local petco. Seems to be healthy, active in cage awake all day and sleeps through the night when night lamp is on. I was told by the store that she/he is about 2-4 months old.

There are also some white spots on the body I am assuming that it is shedding spots ?

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on the new cham. You don't need a night lamp ditch it, and unless your temps drop below 55 degrease you won't need any heat at night at all. I know the pet store probably sold you a drinking dish if so ditch that as well they won't drink standing water. It should be ok not pooping just yet let it settle in. If it hasn't gone in a few days then we can start to worry a little. If you show us a pic of you cham, and the back of his rear feet we can let you now approximately how old, and which sex it is. The whit spots you are referring to are probably supposed to be there we will know more after you show the pic. I would get some more foliage in there if it were me. She need too be able to hide to feel secure, and she needs more horizontal vines, and branches to walk on for her heat gradient. Good luck:)

I would recommend putting the screen cage up on a minimum of at least three foot stand or shelf. The higher the cage, the more comfortable and less stressed she will be.

Seems like she'll only eat them if they crawl near her at the top of the cage, do u think she'll benefit from cup feeding ? Sorry for all the questions

If she will eat from it that's what I would do. That way you can keep an eye on how much she is eating much better.

Since you have a little girl there, you will want to plan on having a laying bin when she gets a bit older. Also, many will not allow temps to be quite as high for a female and will feed less so they can try to limit egg production. They will develop eggs even without a male present.
