Basking temps

Hi guys, I have a 11-12 month old female panther. I have just permanently put in a probe I have been keeping an eye on it once a week. Now I have a solid reading at all times, it currently sits at 89.8, is this too hott?!

Where is the probe specifically? In the basking spot, or what?
For basking it should only go up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit for a female cham to control egg clutches.

(also is it just me or does she look overweight?? ?)

Ok good. You will definitely want to reduce the basking temp for her to no more than about 80. Otherwise she will lay more eggs, bigger clutches, and it will put more stress on her.

How much are you feeding her now? It’s best to feed a female of her age 3-5 feeders 3 days a week, (depending on the size of the bug; ex: more BSFL, because they are pretty small, less crickets, as the ones you would feed an adult panther are pretty large)
again to control obesity and egg clutches.
although you may want to reduce this a bit more, if she is overweight

Hi there. I’m not experienced in female panthers, but is she gravid? She should have a lay bin in her enclosure permanently to reduce guessing when she’ll be needing it. She could also use some more plants. You could actually combine the two...get a good sized plastic container at least 10-12 long/wide/deep, fill with washed play sand and if you add a bit of organic soil, you could put a plant in one corner of the bin.

I thought she could be overweight?? Just because if you zoom in on the head, like right here: it seems to be very full looking. BICBW.
