My male veiled wont open his right eye. I have bathed it and tried to open it but he isnt even rotating it. What should i do:mad:

What kind of lighting? what kind of gutload? what did you use to clean his eye?

If you can get your hands on terramycin, it'll take care of most eye infections.

Check out this thread from a couple of days ago..... Link

Is the eye crusted over or does he appear not being able to open it up. If it is an eye infection(crusty material), then Terramycin should work. Other times, a chameleon 's response to something else being wrong is a chameleon not opening their eyes. Try to get to the source of the problem so that the correct treatment of the can can be started.

His lighting is a uvb light 10.0 with a ceramic for heat. his crickets are fed fruit and vegetables with oats. His eye isnt crusty and if he wanted to open it he could nothing is stopping him. He is just choses not to. I only bathed the ey in warmish water. I am taking him to a specialist reptile shop tomorrow to see what they think and wether i neeed to go to a vets. He is eating if i hold the stuff by his good eye but he doesnt move much. I wondered if the uvb light was to bright but it has been in there a few months so it shouldnt be the problem. the only thing i can think of is if he has something in his eye or he has poked it on a wire or plant.

Anything is possible to cause it. What type of 10.0 bulb do you have(compact or linear tube)?
SOme people say the 10.0 bulb can be a little strong when the bulb is relatively new and to counter that, they raise the bulb up several inches so the light isn't too intense.
