hey guys so my baby is 7.5 weeks old and shedding.. hes my 1st chameleon and i'm wondering if there is anything i have to do.? anything to look out for? also, kinda dumb question, but, what exactly does shedding mean? lol... thanks guys

What kind of chameleon is he? More than likely he'll finish shedding within an hour or so. It's just where his old skin comes off and his slightly bigger new skin is waiting underneath, like a snake. There's nothing you need to do, but keep an eye on him, if the humidity is low he may 'retain' some skin and have rough white patches, often around face and tail.

Any pics?? I love how messy they get!

Teehee scruffy wee bugger!

My baby is shedding just now. Spent half an hour watching him rubbing against branches. Soooooo cute! And then he is going to eat his skin :S

It's good to mist your Cham with warm drinking water he will stay still and not run. Try it:) private message me and let me know his response and congratulations!

Babie Lobie- Mine shed last week (we got him on Sept 28)... I think our babies are near the same age (mine is almost 3 months or at least somewhere around that age). I felt kind of sad for him when he was upside down in the cage hanging from the top trying to get it off.

Oh yeah... watch his eye area. It looked like after mine had shed that his one eye was opened a bit larger than the other. I misted him very well a few times on the face with slightly warm water (warmer than room temp but not hot) and it seemed to have corrected whatever was bugging his eye.
