Ok - My friend's landscape guy just brought over a baby veiled cham - I can see the tiniest tarsal spurs so I guess a male. He found it in a tree in her yard! I asked him if he looked for more and he said yes but didn't see any. I am going over in a few minutes to look as well.

This little guy (sooooo cute is about 2.5-3 inches long (not including tail). Any idea how young he is? He seems very healthy but making vet appt for later today to have him checked.

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?? My friend does not know of any neighbors who have a chameleon, but someone must!

I am a newbie to begin with but lov my first, Cricket (some debate as to if she is a graceful or flap neck) and now I guess I have another love...pretty amazing!!!!

wow thats cool it was probably just someones pet that got away from them when they weren't looking. Take some pics and keep us updated!

Sounds pretty small to have gotten away, but some people do let it happen. Glad you are going to give him a good home.

That is awesome! such a small cham is probably 2 months old. If you can take care of it, get everything ready for it as soon as you can, otherwise (although not legal) i'd return it where I found it because I dont want it to die.

Here's his pic - he's darling - I have him in a temp. cage but will go today to get him all set up. Not an expense I was planning on but what can you do...

It's flakey...isn't he adorable!!! I assume he gets same feeders, just really little? And do veileds really eat greens?? Trying to do some fast research to get myself up to speed!

Thanks eveyone - I cannot begin to tell you how helpful this site is and how great it is for a newbie who really wants to do the right things for these beauties. Off to vet soon, I'll let you know if he's in good shape.:)

If any more are found I will be looking for homes for them - a dog, cat, bearded dragon and 2 chams are about all I can handle!

Of course I cerrtainly will - I am a little concerned about any owner that would actually lose thier chameleon - but I guess it's not my place to determine if they are fit...

There have been lots of cases of escapes on this board and the owners have been responsible, reasonable people. Unexpected things do happen. It's unlikely that such a little one has traveled far, so the area right around where he was found is probably sufficient.

Fair enough, I don't like to jugde! Flyers are going up...With my luck I'll pay for the vet visit and the owner will turn up but at least the man is being cared for...
