Baby Veiled Found in Los Angeles garden!!!!!!

Got back from the vet (totally healthy but need to go back w poop) and my friend tells me he's mine to keep...Ready for this one? Her neighbor has had him for about 3 weeks (he's 6 weeks old) and decided he was too much work so she put him OUTSIDE...He's been on his own since Sunday!! Can't believe this on soooo many levels: first and foremost who in dog's name does that?? Secondly, that he wasn't eaten by a bird or whatever else. Third that he was found and fourth that a chameleon pretty much fell into my lap? I'm hoping this isn't an omen as to what is going to happen to my baby girl, Cricket, who is now on her 4th day without food (yes I'm freaking out).

I went to the old owner's house and was given the cage and one light. I thanked the woman and told her she was horrible in the same sentenance. I asked her if she perhaps could have just returned it to the store she bought it from and her responce was that it was kind of far. People are the most frightening animal of all...

So now I have so much to LEARN about veiled chamsand still can't even figure out if my first one is a flap neck or graceful! Ha!

So, welcome to "Shlomo" as the newest member of our family...

Thanks for all the great links everyone!

Thanks for all the well wishes.
