Average Cham age/size sold at shows?

So some people will remember I posted this photo about the ferret cage I'll be using for my new cham. I just took it apart to disinfect all the parts, and before I put it back together I was wondering if the entire cage might be too large for a young cham. I'll be wrapping it in mesh, so it's not the bar size that's an issue.

I've never paid too much attention to the cham sizes at shows because I couldn't afford one at the time, so it was better to avoid the tempation lol. So now I'm not sure if they're big enough to go into a cage this large or if they will benefit from being confined to the top half for now.

But then it's probably better to start off with a young cham, right? So it'll get used to you. So I'm thinking I am better off to close off the top half? I think the actual cage space (without the bottom part) is maybe 3-4 feet? The whole cage is almost as tall as I am.

Thank you for any imput! I need to get the cage ready before next weekend (Daytonaaa) and my new pet>

The entire cage is to big for a baby. I start a baby 3-4 month in a 16x18x20.

The selection at Daytona will probably be really good so you could choose an older cham, maybe 6 months or older and use the entire cage.

It's almost at my eye level at the top, so I'm thinking it's about 5 feet tall total. So I guesstimate the actual cage part is 3-4 feet tall and then over a food deep. It's in pieces right now lol so I can't get acurate measurements. So each half section is maybe 2 feet tall.

So you think a 6 month old is fine in something this big?

Panther or Veiled should be fine at 6 months in a cage that size. Just put lots of plants and lots of vine and stuff so they can get around. Only concern with a big cage is if they are babies. Sometimes they can have a hard time finding their food. 6 Months they won't have a problem. :D

Of course, decorating is the best part! Alright, thank you. I'll hunt for a 6 month old or older at the show :) If not, I'll have to get home and do some emergency reajusting.

Hey are you going to meet up with the rest of us at Daytona? Love to meet you and see your new cham:D

Yea I would love to! Is everyone meeting up at an organized place? I know a lot of people on the gecko forums are going out to dinner afterwards. I don't know if we'll stay that long (we might be going with a couple who isn't really into reptiles (yet!) so I don't know how long they'll want to stay) but I love meeting people at shows.
