Wasn't aware of Alabama, but I know they're strict with roaches in FL.
Lobsters are interesting. I've recently started using them more to feed. Chams seem to enjoy them a lot, like red runners they're pretty soft and active, makes them enticing for whatever reason. They are very prolific, good climbers, and you need mesh over screen to keep the nymphs from climbing out. A barrier like vaseline is good too. While they're quick and climb, they are easily stopped with vaseline. I can leave a feeder cup out with a barrier around it and they won't go past. Even in full sprint they'll stop at the edge and turn around.
Lobsters can be fairly aggressive too. Just today I witnessed them attack a hisser I had in the feeder cup. The hisser was much larger than them even. I added a little food and that kept them preoccupied.
And lol Idt I'm a roach expert, just going off my experience.
