anybody work with Kinkajous?

We had one at my university for a little while, it was one a grad student had rescued and was working on rehabilitating with the local zoo. It would walk around the lecture hall loose and would sit on my lap and wrestle with my hands every so often, it was adorable. They are soft, adorable, and super interesting.

But I don't know how much I recommend an animal like this as a pet. You'd have to be set up to meet their needs as climbers and arboreal mammals in your home.

They can be a rewarding experience but they require quite a bit of room and can climb or jump almost anywhere. Frankly an actual raccoon is easier to manage. I have had both and you had really better be committed to taking care of them for many years. It's very time consuming and not something that should be done on a whim. Also depending on your location you may need a permit and a facility inspection. Also ours never litter box trained like our Raccoon did so you will end up with feces anywhere at any time.
