Antwan is stressing me!!

I’m sure this is normal behavior, but it sure does stress me out. Probably just because I haven’t experienced this before since he’s my first. I’m enclosing a short video of his behavior, he does stop doing this a couple times a day to go though to fill his face. (which makes me very happy.)! Then he goes back to doing this. Okay so I’m scrapping the video because it only allows me to add photos. So basically all he does is stay at the one end of the enclosure and claw at the glass trying to get up or out?
I placed a piece of dark cloth on the outside of that side so that he can’t see through the glass. Is there anything else I can do to help him settle in better?
Thanks!!!

He's likely just adjusting to his new cage.... Imagine being scooped up, blindfolded, then randomly being put into an entirely new country; where you don't speak the same language. That's a bit how this guy feels right now.

Just as an FYI to other members; the pet store she bought the cham from has a stipulation that if you live in her area, they won't let you take the cham home without a glass tank...

@Lynn57 ... I think, now that you have your little man home in your arms, it's best to start an official care thread. When you have a new question, post it in the same thread. This way all your questions are documented in one area. It saves YOU, and others, from having to repeat the same questions/advice. It's super easy... Just post an official thread for Mr. Antwan, and copy/paste the following questions into your official chamily thread, and keep it updated with future questions/concern's. It truly helps with keeping advice consistent when all the information is in one area. 🙂💕

Questions for your new thread for Antwan the great...

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Thanks ehdee6. ! I was 99% sure that it was “the big move” that was causing this. Happens to every specie on earth I would think. I just needed someone to reassure me. 😊

This care thread and being able to post in the same thread would be amazing!!! I’m going to fill it out and hopefully be successful in making it happen! Fingers crossed for me as I’m a tad daft when it comes to this tech stuff. Thanks again!!
