My Albert the ambilobe has outgrown his Reptibreeze XL. I got him a Dragon Strand Large Atrium and the Cross Cuts stand. Well, I got two actually because I’ll be welcoming a baby male Parsons next week. Thanks Rick! I’m told he’s only 5” long so it will be a while until he’s as big as Albert.
Anyway, I love the dragon ledges! I saw how most people attach large vertical branches to the ledges and then attach their other branches and pots to those large branches.
I found white PVC trim board (Azek) at Home Depot and cut it to size to make rails. It was super easy to cut, drill, and bolt them on with zinc plated 1/4” bolts, washers, and wing nuts. With the ledges connected by rails. It’s super strong.
Now I can put the pots of schefflera and pothos anywhere I want and fill this bad boy out with plants!
I’ll drill holes in the vertical rails to feed zip ties through discreetly. And maybe add a little cross bar to help support the under side of the pots.
More to come!
