Hello everyone

Just got my first panther from a pet expo I'm pretty sure he's wild caught. He is so scared of me. Every time I put my hand in the cage he opens his mouth and try's to bite me. I would really like to claim him down even try and handle him from time to time. Any tips on how to tame him ? Please help.

There are many threads on this that you can look up and find more detailed responses, but to put it simply, food. Hand feeding is the best way to calm them down. They come to associate your hand with something good instead of just a large predator coming in to harass.
As for the WC status, I would be kinda surprised. Panthers are usually CB. If it is a baby, then I would say it is definitely CB.

The man who sold him to me said he's about a year old. I didn't ask him if he was WC but my local pet store knows of him and they told me if I purchased from him it's most likely WC. Anyway I'll try and find some threads on taming.

First you don't want to hold him or even bother him much for the first few weeks. Let him get use to his new home. They don't like change. Then start to try and hand feed, move slow and dont just jam your hand in there. It will take a good amount of time for him to start to trust you. Don't give up and if he pulls back or gaps then stop and try again later.

I had him for a week now I just started to hand feed him he's taking it from me. So I just keep doing that every other day. What's the next move just slowly keep putting my hand closer and closer to him when I feed ? Or should I wait for him to get closer ? Sorry about all the questions I'm just really new to this.

You can use the feeder to lure him on your hand. You want him to know your hand brings food and won't hurt him. It can take months for him to build a trust with you. Just take it slow and don't rush him.

My female veiled chameleon will not eat from my hand. But will look at the mealworm than at me, than her bowl. Like put it in there. But today she puffed up but let me pick her up by my hands. So you can make progress just take it slow.

The best thing you can do, for now, is just leave him alone.
Let him get used to seeing you moving around, doing what you normally do.
Just feed him and walk away.
He will eventually learn you are not a threat, and associate you with being fed.
