How big is the enclosure you have it in? I would get a big stock tank for outside and have it live in that because of the size, just add a basking area (Usually consists of a big piece of wood or a 2x4 something like that.
whats that guy feeding, surprisingly turtles can live past 50 years.

not sure if you go by this or have ever heard of this, but for ever inch of turtle (usually shell length) add 10 gallons to the enclosure.
