Ok well since I have already got several PMs about this chameleon I will just post pictures and info here and then those that are interested can let me know...
Ok so some background on this animal..well there isnt much. A week ago I stopped by a local pet shop and they were excited to tell me about him because they know me as the chameleon guy. They said someone had just dropped him off because they couldnt care for him anymore, something about how the owner was a photographer and used him to take shots. So he is still at the pet store but I have been by several times to check on him and he appears to be in good health and is very active, eating and drinking. The owner of the pet store owns 2 Ambanjas so Im not overly worried about the care he is receiving there but I think the less time a chameleon spends in a pet store, usually the better.
I have wanted to work with Ankaramys for a while now and was very excited when I saw him and was extremely tempted to buy him for myself because he has strong pink coloration and not the grey that is sometimes seen with this locale. The pictures dont do him justice as they are taken with a phone. The problem is I dont have a female and it would be a shame for such a rare locale to go to waste.
The previous owner told them he was 2 years old. He is very docile and friendly. Now the problem with this animal is that so far he appears to only feed if hand fed. I dont know the reason for this so whether he has an injured tongue or not I cannot say. This animal is still available and as long as I know there is an experienced keeper that can care for him I will go pick him up and send him off to you.
In order to cover the cost of the animal and shipping him to you the price is $400. I am not profiting from this, thats not what this is about. I would rather see him go to someone who can care for him instead of a spoiled child who wants a pink lizard. Ha sorry for the novel.
