I was told to put a peice of rotting fruit outside in order to catch flies for my Senegal Cham BUT i can't for the life of me catch a fly. So i stuck the rotting apple inside of a gatorade bottle and waited but the flies won't go in there either......what am i suppose to do to catch a couple of silly flies for my little guy...and don't say get faster cause i already knew that one!!! So frustrated I'm pretty sure Skittles is laughing at me through the window.

Its not recomended to catch wild flies. Go to mantisplace.com and buy some spikes/maggots. You can get blue bottle or houseflies. They are cheap and they are clean. They havent been feeding on rotting flesh or dog poo. Wild flies could have fed on anything before you caught it. If you want a great wild feeder go find a good place free of pesticides and catch grasshoppers or katydids. Better choices than wild flies....

thank you!!! that websites awesome...yay Skittles says thank you too.

I bought blue bottle flies from mantis place for my Jackson. He absolutely loves them! Only problem is that he loves them too much. He has not eaten anything else since he got the flies, he is on day 3 of his hunger strike. I think he will eat when he gets hungry enough.

What do the flies that wild chameleons eat? I have had my chameleons in an outdoor cage and im sure they feed on wild flies and spiders as well as various other insect all the time.
With my babies, which are indoors, dont recieve that diet though.
