A light breeze

Now that I've identified goggles as a rudis, I know he prefers cooler temps of around 70-75 F. Right now there's sort of a heatwave in southern California and the ambient temp in my room is about 80 F. I have placed a small fan a couple of feet away from his enclosure set to low. just enough that there is some movement in the leaves. Also, when I mist, it seems to help lower the temp. Is this a good way for me to cool down the enclosure? Any thoughts on cooling down a hot cham?

Note: he is basking and resting in his normal areas. If he is not trying to escape the heat, is there need for me to be concerned with cooling him off?

Also, info or rudis chams seems to be few and far between. Does anybody know of a care sheet somewhere. I'm interested in finding his ideal temp and humidity levels.

I agree i have tried the fan before, it really dries things out quickly. If your cham is acting normal i wouldn't worry too much about it especially if there is good air flow in the cage. Maybe just increase mistings and run the fan during the afternoon when it is the hottest...Just an idea

If you can put the fan <1' above the cage and about 2'-3' away from the cage to where the air passing over top will draw air up and out, it'll providing circulation without blowing directly into the cage. A piece of pvc roughly the same diameter of the fan attached to the front will help direct the air. Just a thought... any way you do it just make sure he is hydrated. Doolah's idea of a swap cooler is great.

cooling

The Vicks Ulrasonic cool mist humidifiers work excellent, nice cool mist, cools and helps keep leaves dewy, aprox 45.00 at Kmart, highly recommend!! Our dude loves it!!:D

Do I just put the humidifier near the enclosure and raise the humidity of the entire room?
u put it right next to the screen with the direction (which is adjustable) blowing the mist into the enclosure, it will dew up the screen and the plants in line with the fog
