a few questions about new setup?

hi everyone

new to the forum and new to chameleons.i have done tons of research and feel confident to get started.
i am starting to setup my new panther chameleon enclosure in the next month.im planning on getting either a ambanja or nosey be.i just love the blue

my question is???
im using a wooden vivarium which i will alter to make suitable,but i want to attach some vives to the side of it on the outside.like a mini free range.will i have to add a heat lamp above it even tho he can just climb back in when he wants?

just thought id ask.

It really is up to you. You can have more than one heat lamp for him. Just make sure if you add the one outside of the cage, there is no way for him to climb on top of it and get burned.
