6, T. cristatus eggs ... days from hatching

These eggs will have been incubating for 9 months on the 14th of this month.
With my fingers tightly crossed I will say that they should be hatching any day now!
You can see my thumb for size comparison, they have grown to 3 times the size when laid.

So eggs grow after they're laid?

Yup.

There is no way a female could carry or deposit full sized eggs.
The shells are not like a chicken egg, they are more pliable and as the embryo develops, the egg expands or "grows" to accommodate it.
