Oh i see just a bit dehydrated no need for a vet visit, so are you doing everything fine now? is everything good?

I'm not sure I spray like crazy & have the dripper on most of the day. Do you like he looks dehydrated from the pics? TIA

His eyes look quite good. However, urates are the best indicator. If they are still orange, you probably still have a problem.

no but i cant go off that, does he ever look wrinkled and if you pinch his skin does it unwrinkle or does it stay wrinkled? do his eyes ever look sunken? what color are his urates those are some variables

what's the indicator with the skin wrinkling? jc. :D

He did not poo yesterday or today yet. How & where would you pinch the skin to check for hydration? I would feel like I was hurting him, not sure where you would pinch skin. TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!
This morning update... he wasn't doing too well & had eyes closed when I came up to cage about 3 hours after his lights came on. He wasn't at top bask but on bottom branch near where he was sleeping last night & seemed a little weak. He didn't open his eyes when I slightly tapped cage to let him know I was there. I sprayed for about 10 minutes or more w/ him having no interest so I tried to touch him for response. He flared a little but not much so I touched him a little more until he opened his mouth to me & put water in there w/ a dropper. He swallow & then I sprayed some more. He then moved around his cage a little. I took him out & he ate a small wax worm from my hand (had one yesterday too for the first time ever... I left it in bowl w/ some cricket checked back later & it was gone). After eating the worm & hanging out of his cage a little I went to put he back & he didn't want to go back in the cage & keep turning around & go up my arm. I'm hoping the worm w/ help w/ hydration. Right now Diego is full from worm & a few cricket, he is basking & digesting w/ eyes closed (in that rest like state). His colors look good & he seems more content not weak. I'm gonna wait an hour then spray like a mad women again... hopefully after eating & digesting he will wanna drink.

Sorry if you have posted this before but what UV are you using and what output does it have?
I once used a certain UV tube with a few different chams and they all started closing there eyes after a while, they also seemed weak and kept their eyes shut for quite a while.
When I removed the UV and left them without it for a weak they recovered, and I dont use that UV anymore.

Lighting is a zoo med 50 watt basking light bulb (it was a 75 watt for the first couple days but I lower it to 50 watt... basking temp was closer to high 90s-100 with the 75 watt) now basking temp is upper 80's lower 90's. I also use reptisun 5.0 flourescent UVB. What do you think about his lighting? He doesn't sit under UV very much at all. He will sit on lower branch about a foot or so from UV under vine coverage or bask under spot lamp and put he's head towards UV. He will almost always if not always have his eyes closed when he does that & mostly basks after eating. BTW No UV... hmmm interesting & something I didn't even think about. I might move him into his larger cage, 18 deep x 24 long x 30 high, tomorrow if he's feeling okay. He is currently in a 12 deep x 24 x 24. I have a REAL plant (Ficus benjamina, weeping fig) in there along w/ a grape wood branch & some jungle vine for new cage. I'm gonna just change over his branches & fake vines from his cage he is now in into this new one. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or if I should wait but maybe he might like extra stuff to climb.. maybe it might perk him up. What do you think? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!

ok tube is good. Alot of times the lighting leads to eye issues and closing of the eyes but all your lighting seems ok. Have you had him tested for parasites?

No... he was captive bred so I thought it wasn't needed. Should I? Ok heres a run down off the top of my head of things..

*Eye bubbles out on occasion (not just after misting, he's done since I got him 1 month ago)
* closes eyes during day & while basking (done since I got him 1 month ago)
* Urate were red/ orange in middle the white at end on day 2 after receiving him then went to slightly yellow tinge & then ,I think it was 2 days ago, back to the picture I posted on previous thread. I attached that thread on this one somewhere on first page of this thread.
* I'm not 100 percent sure but his eyes this morning looked slightly sunk in... I thought but wasn't sure. Later on in the day they looked better.
* Since yesterday there is this crusty yellow looking stuff by where he poos that is sticking out a bit & looks like our morning crusty eye stuff we get. I'm thinking cause he hasn't poo'ed in 2 days maybe?!?!

Diego eats GREAT, as long as he perked up. He always gets in the right amount of food for the day. only saw him drink briefly once & then possible about to drink (staying very close to dripping water) once as well. TIA!!!!!

The stuff by his vent(poop hole) sounds like a sperm plug that dried. You could post a pic to be on the safe side. Try misting it with warm water. Captive bred chams can get parasites too, no matter how careful we are.

Funny thing... I sprayed it today because whatever it was looked dried out to me. So I spray it while he was on the top of his cage upside down to wet it & there was a drop of water that sit right on here while he was upside down. I though if it was dried up & trying to come out then moisture might help... thought maybe that might have been the reason for no poo. Hopefully that will help clear up that stuff. Should it come off or go back in if it's a sperm plug? Also I better google that parasite thing & see what signs he would show if he had them :( . Thanks for all those tips:)!!!!!! Much appreciated... I'm a very worried mommy!
